The Physical Security module covers topics on: the danger of theft of a device, why you might be a target for device theft, what is physical security, and steps that will enhance the security of your device.

Your access to our organization’s sensitive information makes you a potential target for theft.

Measures such as anti-virus software and spam filters help prevent cyber crime, whereas physical security helps prevent crime in the workplace.

Physical security is any measure that is in place to deter the unauthorized physical access to a technical device or information.

Physical security is used primarily to deter and detect unauthorized access to sensitive data in the workplace. Deterrence measures, such as signs, parking gates, and door locks, discourage theft or make it more difficult to attempt.

Detection measures, such as security officers, motion sensors, and security cameras, are used to catch thieves in the act.
