Course modified date: 18 June 2022
Learn about pie charts, specifically extracting and interpreting information from a pie chart and converting data from a table to a pie chart. This course is ideal for beginners.
Introduction
Pie charts are useful for indicating the relative
proportions of the various components that make up a whole. The “slices” of pie
charts, called sectors, are used to show the relative size of data.
Pie charts are useful because:
· They present information in clear, systematic way
· People take in visual information more clearly and quickly than words
· It is easier to see relationships, patterns or trends
· You can make comparisons more easily
Pie charts present information in a way that can be taken in visually all at once. However, it can be difficult to compare if different sectors are similar in size.
You will learn
- Extract and interpret information from a pie chart
- Convert data from a table to a pie chart
