In this course you will learn about a range of material processing techniques, as well as being able to describe these techniques by the end of the session. You will also know which processing techniques are used on key material types.
Introduction
By examining a range of products from different sectors, it is clear that a wide variety of processes are required to get materials to the correct shape before any secondary machining takes place.
These processes include:
- Drawing
- Blending
- Mixing
- Rolling
- Casting
- Metal stamping
- Sintering
- Calendaring
- Extrusion
We will look at these processes in more detail in this course.
