Introduction
Round brackets, otherwise known as parentheses, are most commonly used in everyday text. Brackets are punctuation marks used within a sentence to include information that is not essential to the main point. Information within parentheses is usually ‘extra’ to the sentence; if it were removed, the sentence would still make perfectly good sense.
