Learn about maps and plans, different types of maps, diagrams and plans, the labels and scales used on maps and plans and how to calculate the distance between points on a map of plan using scale. This course is ideal for intermediate learners.

Introdcution 

We use maps, diagrams and plans in everyday life.
For example, you might use:
·       A diagram to help you put together a piece of flat-pack furniture
·       A plan to guide you to the toilets in a department store
·       A map to find out how to get to your friend’s house

Maps, diagrams and plans should always have the following information:
·       Title – this tells you what the plan, diagram or map is for
·       Labels – telling you what different parts mean

·       Measurements – these show the lengths on the parts of the plan, or the scale on maps

You will learn 

1. Understand different types of maps, diagrams and plans
2. Understand the labels and scales used on maps and plans
3. Be able to calculate the distance between points on a map or plan using a scale
